Bowling Center Adds Laser Tag Arena to Renovation Plans

Lake Elsinore, CA – Residents in Lake Elsinore, CA were sad to hear that their local bowling center was closing its doors. That was back in late April 2014 but bowling is finally back in the city. Pins ‘N Pockets is the new bowling establishment that took over the building that was once occupied by a K-Mart retail store. Residents couldn’t be happier to see the “Now Open” sign hanging over the entryway. The new owners didn’t want to just re-open the bowling center; they had bigger plans.

The new Pins ‘N Pockets bowling center remained open as it went through a three-phase renovation process. The renovation process will give the 86,000 sq ft facility a total of 36 bowling lanes, 16 private lanes, one four-lane projector, a 50-game arcade including a Lazer Frenzy laser maze and a full bar and restaurant. During the renovation process, the addition of a 3,900 sq ft two-story laser tag arena was a must for the updated facility. Property owner Inland Pacific’s Colin O’Byrne wanted to include a laser tag arena in the renovation because it is a “great attraction and had lots of synergies with other amenities.”

Pins ‘N Pockets worked with Creative Works, Inc. to design and build their laser tag arena. After meeting with company representatives at an amusement industry trade show, Pins ‘N Pockets management new that Creative Works would be the perfect company to bring laser tag into their bowling center. The companies worked together to create a “Battle Ruin” theme for the laser tag arena. When players walk into the arena, they are immersed into the remains of an environment that has just been through a destructive battle complete with cracked walls and crumbling brick buildings. “People are in awe every time they take a tour or jump in for a game,” exclaimed O’Byrne. Paintings of attack helicopters and burning buildings on the arena walls add to the battle atmosphere.

“Our laser tag facility is a premier attraction in a dynamic entertainment filled market,” added O’Byrne. In addition to bowling, arcade and laser tag, Pins ‘N Pockets also has a large banquet room that can accommodate up to 500 guests with full catering and bar services.
